M.O.M.* to Moms

My sister-in-law, Michelle, loved being a mom. Jade Isabella is blessed to have called her "Momma." Her sisters, Emina and Leila, never had the privilege of calling her by name, but nevertheless they received their mother's love while growing within her. Sadly, within a span of just 11 months, Michelle, Emina and Leila were gone. To honor Michelle's 38 years with us, her husband Archie and the rest of her family want to honor her memory by putting together 38 Newborn Kits which will be distributed through MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) to new mothers around the world. They will be sent on Michelle's birthday, June 2, 2010, to moms who need a little support to get their babies off to a good start.

You can help in one of the the following ways:
1. Put together a Newborn Kit (see list below) or
2. Donate any amount of money to be put towards Newborn Kits
3. Drop off your kit to any of Michelle's family members or
4. Donate your kit/dollars to MCC yourself in honor of Michelle. (Please let us know).
5. Donate any portion of the Newborn Kit. Contact me so we can arrange for pick up.

Newborn Kit (NEW items only, sizes 3-6 or 6-9 months)
2 gowns/sleepers
2 undershirts/onesies (short or long sleeves)
4 cloth diapers (flat-fold preferred)
1 receiving blanket (light weight fleece or flannel; minimum 36")
4 Diaper pins (2")
1 large bar Dove soap (leave in wrapper)
1 pair of socks
1 cap
Remove packaging material (except soap) and fold into the receiving blanket.
Fasten together with the diaper pins.
