A weekend of mixed feelings

This was a weekend of a lot of mixed feelings.  Archie, Bonnie and AJ were all here as well as Tony’s Aunt Margaret from Iowa.  We had a good weekend with family.  On Friday we went go-carting and bowling and on Saturday we spent most of the day at the Sports Center watching Quinn play basketball.  He had a great tournament and scored 22 points over the day.  His team earned a 2nd place trophy (OK, there were only 3 teams total, but who’s counting).  Madison played indoor soccer this afternoon and as always played well and even scored a left-footed goal! : )

Jade and Archie left for Kansas on Saturday around 12:15, stopping in Iowa and finishing the trip tonight.  She starts at her new daycare on Monday.  We aren’t sure how long this arrangement will last but you certainly have to give Archie kudos for trying to raise a preschooler as a single dad on a military base.  I bawled when they left!  Our house is so much quieter now!  We are really going to miss our Jader-Tader.  I know she will be back for long stays in the future but that doesn’t help me miss her less now.  After 3 months we’ve gotten used to having her here!  Her little twin bed in Madison’s room looks so empty and lonely… and Madison won’t get Jade’s flashlight shown in her eyes during the night time any more.  That was one of the first things we talked about when Madison woke up this morning.  Her room itself feels different.  Jade and her daddy deserve some good quality time together.  The flowers in the top picture are bouquets from Jade’s Iowa grandparents (Archie’s parents) that he delivered from them to Jade and me.  Wasn’t that so sweet?  I thought that was really a nice gesture and we all have enjoyed them.  Well, that’s where we are at for now.  Life is far from perfect but I do serve a perfect God who has our future plans all worked out already, I’m doing my best not to worry/wonder/think about it… but I am human!   Thank you friends and family for all of your support theses past 3 months.  You will never know how much it has meant to us.
